A little about myself: I am a state…

  • In fact, I am two states.  I can be myself or the west of myself.
  • I am an aspiring novelist.
  • Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-Long Blog is the greatest musical ever made.
  • I am a Norwegian Elkhound enthusiast.
  • Lima beans make me gag.  Profusely.
  • I have never been to Disneyland and am not sad to say so.
  • I think things up and write them down!
  • Sting sounds best when singing duets.
  • I am partially afraid of heights, partially afraid of drowning.  God forbid you combine the two and put me in the middle of it.
  • I was named after my grandmother, who in turn was named after her aunt who died at age 18 of influenza in 1918.
  • Poetry will be the end for me… or the beginning… I haven’t figured out which just yet.
  • My two ‘from my childhood’ cars when I’m old and feeble will be a 2006 red and black Subaru Baja and a 2010 Lamborghini Murcielago.
  • I have no religion, only a belief.
  • I would be a she-Thor, Iron Man would be my husband (don’t ask where Pepper went), Captain America would be my best friend, Bruce would be my colleague (and my pet when he was green), everyone would think Hawkeye and I were a thing, and Widow would want to kill me for it, but always have my back in a fight.
  • I am in love.
  • Filling in the blanks is my hobby.
  • I am not here to say I’m right,
  • I’m not here to say you’re wrong.
  • I’m here to discuss the options and the perspectives behind those options.
  • I’m here for knowledge, for understanding, and for experience.

  1. Dear Rana,

I remember your compliment on my site “Masterpiece of Free Will.” I have since updated the entire site and it is now on its own domain. Would you be so kind as to visit and let me know what you think? The domain is: http://www.masterpieceoffreewill.com and there is a contact form on the menu in which you can offer suggestions or comments if you wish. Thank you kindly.

    • Hello Lucent! I’d be happy to browse the new site! I can’t tell you when I’ll get to send you feedback, as I’ve been extra busy the past couple weeks, but I will try my best to get you something by the end of the week. 🙂 Thanks very much for the heads up!

  2. Virginia, I am so glad we managed to find each other!

Thanks again for taking the time to review my blog and responding to my request for reviews on it!

I have read a few of your poems and I absolutely love your style/work!

I can’t wait to dig deeper into your poems and get lost in your other posts, you are a very talented Artist & Writer, can’t wait to chat with you some more! =]

  3. I laughed out loud to the point that I had to read this page to my husband. First virtual ^5: never done Disney and not sorry (note: moved to Southern California in 2007 and everyone insisted, like, we go; we were like, no).
Second virtual ^5: “and my pet when he was green.” Nuff said, except Hulk Smash.
Thanks for the follow–I am joining the ranks of your admirers momentarily.

  4. Loved today’s quote, one shall endeavour not to be boring! Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting. If you like Tolkien type stuff, you might like my fantasy poems and my short stories about the Giant Snail (set in the mythological world of Cyralost, which I just finished writing my first fantasy novel in). I really loved this post and have been inspired to do something similar, an ‘about me’ post, i hope you’ll see it when I get round to it. Lovely to meet you, keep smiling and keep writing! Kind regards, Baldy 🙂

  5. I really loved going through your blog and seeing how much I agreed with you. I totally loved everything you had and found that I could relate a lot with you 🙂 I hope you continue being awesome! 😀 Cheers

    • I’m glad you enjoyed your visit! I’ve been on a haitus for a few days, and may be again in a while. I have a post or two more and then I really want to sit back and work on my novel for a while. But I’ll still be on here and there, and get back in the swing of things once I get some chapters drafted. Feel free to comment on any posts that intrigue you. ^_^ Cheers!

      • For the most part, I am a poet, but I too am writing a novel. Right now, I’m about 60 pages into it, so for a first time writer, would you have any tips to share? And I wish you all the best with yours 🙂 I have loves the creativity that has seeped through into your blog and I’m sure you will do a great job writing a novel as well.

        • 🙂 The only tip I’d say is, when you get on a roll, roll it all the way off the cliff. Do NOT stop for anything. I’ve made that mistake, and still make it, far too often and regret it all the time. I’m more of an editor when it comes to helping with others’ writing, so if you want someone to proofread, edit, or critique, just let me know. ^_^ Thank you for the encouragement! ^_^

  7. Just happened across your blog. You seem like a really creative and fun-loving individual and your blog proves that outright.
A few observations regarding “A little about myself(yourself)”
First, should we ever meet I promise never to picnic with you at the top of a high cliff overlooking the ocean. lol
Second, Can’t poetry be both a beginning AND an end? Nothing to figure out then. Poetry could begin in one state, and finish in the other western version of yourself. Just sayin…..
Third, I am in complete agreement on both Sting, and Lima beans. lol.
And lastly, whether I am right or wrong matters not, as long as my opinion sparks interesting conversation, and knowledge or perspective gained, whether agreed upon or not as well.
Just had to chime in with my two cents. I am going to follow you and look forward to seeing more from you.
    Keep Inspiring

    • 🙂 Well first of all, welcome! Second, I greatly appreciate that you would consciously avoid a cliffside over the ocean as a meeting venue. XD Third, thank you so much for the kind words. Jump in on any post you like. I look forward to seeing you around the blog-o-sphere!
