[POEM] Beast

Leviathan,

concealed by a mid-day sun

dwells on the ant’s strength,

envies dogs’ companionship,

and begs for a friendly touch.

Leviathan

cringes at abusive yells

that come from windows

of neighboring families.

What ignorance of the loved.

Leviathan,

bound to wraithful realms – unseen,

unheard, unnoticed.

In plain sight, the great beast

wallows nameless through the dark.
