Empathy: A Post-Resurrection Eulogy

GRAVE

Chisel, lift dirt clods,

solid over rotted wood,

molding flesh, bleached bone.

Find recognition

in sunken cheeks, absent eyes.

My old friend, long gone,

rise beyond this unmarked grave

and we’ll show them all that there’s

so much more you have to give.
